You’ve brainstormed, daydreamed, asked your friends and family, and more. It’s certainly not easy to come up with the right name (or revised name) for your business, but you’re 
finally there. Almost.
Now what? Get ready to shout it from the rooftops? Not exactly. There are three legal step “to-dos”:
- Ensure the name is available.
- Register the name with your state.
- Register your property (that is, the name) with the federal government.
